John is a seasoned manager gaining nearly 20 years of experience working for corporate America. His life partner, Marty and him had dreams of running their own salon and spa over the 15 years of the partnership. After the market crash in 2008, John saw an opportunity to fulfill that dream, due to an abundance of available retail space in a higher-end shopping district and low start up costs because of the recession. His vision for the salon was an old Hollywood glam embracing all art and creative expression at a reasonable price. Finding Revue a fitting name, and consulting with his partner he fine-tuned the design of the salon. After seeing the space John saw an elegant, sheik, yet trendy look, featuring an entryway chandelier and red velvet theatre curtain as a backdrop. Realizing the importance of the use of space, John spent a tremendous amount of time working with construction to ensure maximizing the revenue per square foot while producing a unique aesthetic experience. Realizing how critical customer service is in a recession John’s vision involved treating each customer as a guest and part of the Revue family. This gives Revue an edge over other more traditional salons. John is now embracing his creative side by apprenticing under his partner, Master Stylist, Marty Serroque. He also sees the importance of truly “knowing” the salon business from the front desk, to stylist, to President of the company giving vision for the future of the company.
